Kevin is a fully qualified Chartered Management Accountant with over 30 years’ experience delivering professional financial services to small social housing providers and the wider social economy in the Liverpool City Region. Prior to working in the Third Sector, Kevin trained in a commercial accounting practice for five years, where he qualified as an Accounting Technician (AAT).
Kevin has worked at all levels in the finance function and has a thorough understanding and vast experience of all aspects of the financial management needs of small- to medium-sized socially-trading organisations.
Kevin’s current role is director of finance at Northwest Housing Services, which is a customer owned and controlled, not for profit mutual co-operative society with a turnover of over £2m. NWHS employs 34 staff and manages over £300 million of assets collectively owned by its members. NWHS was formed in 2006 by a consortium of 38 primary co-operatives who shared a collective goal to take control of their own services.
Alongside running NWHS’s own company finances, Kevin oversees the financial management of its client member organisations by ensuring both effective and efficient control of accounting and finance functions, as well as advising on financial strategy.
Kevin is also a voluntary board member at Safe Community Homes, which plans to deliver one of the largest community-led housing schemes in the UK and has previously served on a number of other not for profit boards.
