Ibe is the founder of Cycle of Life, which promotes cycling in communities across Liverpool City Region. Founded in 2021, its community-centred approach to active travel involves training local instructors and mechanics, collaborating with partners like the NHS, local authorities, community organisations and businesses to reduce barriers to active travel.

Ibe enjoyed cycling with his father as a child and the independence and freedom it gave him. Yet found that, as an adult, there wasn’t a cycling culture in his diverse neighbourhood and families often didn’t encourage their children to ride. In spite of this, he knew that cities would change drastically and cycling and walking – rather than cars or public transport – would become the new norm. Realising a radical new approach was needed to tackle the social inequalities in mobility, health, emissions and socio-economic status in the city/region, he founded Cycle of LIfe, which was one of Kindred’s first investees.

Since then, Ibe has supported his vision for Cycle of Life by completing a Masters in Business Scale Up at Liverpool John Moores University and he was the first socially-trading organisation Kindred invested in to pay off his loan in full.
