Make your voice heard in national campaign for a fairer economy

Social Enterprise UK’s ‘State of Social Enterprise 2025’ (SOSE) survey is live, and we need your help to make the voice of social business heard.

We’re partnering with SEUK to make sure that STOs in Liverpool City Region can have their say, and contribute to a piece of research which highlights the unique experiences and insights of social enterprises.

Published every two years, SOSE has been used to convince governments to implement policy
like:

  • The Social Value Act, which has transformed the procurement landscape creating more business opportunities for social enterprises
  • The creation of Access, the Foundation for Social Investment, which helps social enterprises access finance

Data typically shows that social enterprises outperform traditional businesses on growth, innovation and diversity. They show that it’s possible to do business another way – but it’s only evidence from the State of Social Enterprise survey that shows this.

Peter Holbrook is chief executive of SEUK and says: “For two decades the biannual State of Social Enterprise survey has shaped wide-ranging policy here in the UK and beyond. It is the most influential and important data gathered on social businesses across all forms of incorporation. It’s therefore critical that social enterprises across our nations and regions take a little time to let policy makers know what’s happening and what needs can be better met. Whether you’re big or small, a CIC, co-op or trading charity, please find the 15 mins it takes to complete this research survey.”

Liverpool City Region is recognised as a Social Enterprise Place – a place where social businesses are thriving – so it’s important that we make sure your voice is heard.

“We’re excited to partner with Social Enterprise UK on the UK’s largest social enterprise study,” says Andrew Beattie, Kindred’s engagement and impact lead.

“The results of this survey will help shape national and local policy and ensure that we get the right kind of money and support to help them both grow their impact and grow the social economy here, and nationally. I’d encourage all STOs to take the time to fill the survey in as it’s by taking part here that we can ensure their voices are heard and felt in places where the decisions are made that affect the communities that they serve.”
