There’s been a quiet revolution taking place in the region. One that’s powered by a wave of socially-trading organisations and creative entrepreneurs reshaping the city region’s economy.
It didn’t happen by accident. It’s built on the pioneering work of Kindred to build a social-trading ecosystem in Liverpool City Region.
Our work with Kindred and other partners is helping social-trading organisations tackle some of the region’s most pressing public service challenges and scale their impact.
Capacity and Kindred complement each other. Different types of support for different social trading organisations at different times.
Together, we’ve been extending our Social Climbers programme and working with organisations like We are Juno, Everton in the Community, Open Door and You Matter (and many others).
Organisations doing brilliant work in communities across the region – helping improve the lives of children and young people in care, supporting young people to get the right mental health support and helping people experiencing homelessness.
We’ve been supporting social enterprise leaders in different ways. Helping them find the resources they need to grow, deliver breakthroughs in public services and scale their impact in ways that make a difference to the lives of local people and communities.
One way is by connecting local organisations to social investment. Sometimes through Kindred, sometimes through Postcode Innovation Trust who’ve invested over £1.5m in our Liverpool City Region Social Climber organisations.
In the future we want to connect many more social-trading organisations to the right support and resources through the country’s first ‘Social Investment Pathfinder’ – a £50m fund to stimulate economic growth and create positive social impact across the city region.
It’s central to a better, more inclusive economy and we’re proud to be helping to make it a reality.
